Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering sends a clear signal by admitting refugee students.
Students who were enrolled at Ukrainian universities just before the start of the war are now at risk of being unable to continue their studies or even facing complete interruption due to the conflict. 'By admitting and supporting refugee students, we are sending a clear signal of solidarity, freedom, and democracy,' said Prof. Bernd Naujoks, Dean of the Faculty.
"Our faculty offers a program for master's and bachelor's students in our fields, which includes both English and German-language courses," reported Prof. Arndt Goldack, Vice Dean for Education. "We provide refugee students with an open exchange in teaching, enabling them to continue their studies."
Possible enrollment procedures:
- Enrollment as a guest student as an option to gain insight into programs of study and course content
- Application for admission to the summer semester of 2022 outside of the regular application process
- German language course for study preparation
The program 'In Touch,' offered by the International Office of the University of Wuppertal, includes these and additional offerings:

In addition, support is provided for organizing accommodations and additional assistance with integration to help students connect with both academic and social networks.
"Our initiative is open to all refugee students from our disciplines who have endured this suffering and terrible destruction. We also extend this call to students from Ukraine in so-called third countries who cannot safely and permanently return to their home country," said Prof. Christoph Grafe, Vice Dean for Research.
