Feel the House exhibition in the library at Campus Haspel

11.07.2023|12:04 Uhr

Now the exhibition can be visited permanently in the library at the Haspel Campus.

The Haus-Archiv is a collection of everyday architecture, selected and photographed by students from RWTH Aachen University, Wismar University of Applied Sciences, RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and Bergische Universität Wuppertal. Since 2010, the Haus-Archiv seminar has been one of Prof. Georg Giebeler's regular courses. The selection of motifs is up to the students and is sometimes based on longings, sometimes on memories, sometimes on aesthetic-architectural demands.

A photo motif is always the result of personal feelings and decisions. The documentation of up to three buildings describes a prototype that stands as an example for hundreds of similar houses. Sometimes, however, they are also unique specimens - strange loners that form a contrast to the everyday and have therefore found their place in the collection. Today, the collection comprises well over 400 photos of about 90 students.

FEEL THE HOUSE is a travelling exhibition and presents a selection of the work of the Haus-Archiv. The exhibition has visited architecture faculties at universities and technical colleges in German-speaking countries.
