Summer School in Mumbai! Architecture and civil engineering students explore the 15-minute city

18.01.2024|11:21 Uhr

On 18 February 2024, students from the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering will be travelling to India! Together with the School of Environment and Architecture (SEA), Mumbai, a summer school is being organised that focuses on in-depth analysis of the pioneering concepts of the "15-minute city". The vibrant metropolis of Mumbai, with its unique urban challenges, offers an ideal setting for innovative approaches and the promotion of intercultural exchange.

Students from the Department of Economics of Planning and Construction and the Department of Freight Transport Planning and Logistics will jointly explore Mumbai's urban development issues. The Summer School places particular emphasis on the integration of different disciplines in order to enable a holistic view of the planning and realisation of sustainable urban living spaces.

An outstanding element of this event will be an impromptu project that will be organised and carried out on site at the SEA in close cooperation with the "Construction and Design" department of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering. This not only promises practical experience, but also promotes intensive collaboration between students from different disciplines.

We are looking forward to the creative ideas and solutions that the students will come up with as a result of this extraordinary experience.

Further information on the Summer School will soon be available on the homepage of the Chair of Economics of Planning and Building: https://www.oekonomie-arch.uni-wuppertal.de/de/
