Wuppertal researchers are among the most cited scientists worldwide

Dr.-Ing. Jörg Rinklebe, Professor for Soil and Groundwater Management at the University of Wuppertal, and his colleague, Dr. Sabry Mohamed Nesiem Shaheen, are among the most cited scientists in their research field, according to an international list recently published. This places Prof. Rinklebe and Dr. Shaheen among the approximately 6,900 most influential scientists worldwide.

The company Clarivate Analytics compiles the "Highly Cited Researchers" list annually to identify the most influential scientists, those who have been cited most frequently in the publications of their peers. This is considered an important indicator of the scholarly impact of a publication. The assessment also takes into account the quality, i.e., the reputation of the journal in which the research was published. The current list includes approximately 6,900 scientists from 21 research fields, including 369 German researchers.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Rinklebe and Dr. Sabry Mohamed Nesiem Shaheen conduct research in the field of soil and groundwater management. Currently, they are working on the following research projects:
